From there, the automatic vegetable irrigation technique is also a bit different, requiring us to consider choosing different forms and irrigation equipment.
Most vegetables, especially leafy vegetables, require a large amount of water, frequent watering, daily watering… This requires an active irrigation system, watering with the right flow rate, at the right time.
Vegetables also need a large source of nutrients. In addition to organic fertilizers such as cow manure and vermicompost, farmers also need to add mineral and inorganic fertilizers to ensure adequate supply of nutrients, minerals, and trace elements for vegetables. At this time, the automatic irrigation system will play a great role in the ability to irrigate through the irrigation system.
Many types of vegetables grown in long rows with relatively wide spacing between rows are well-suited for drip irrigation systems. Examples include irrigation for carrots, kohlrabi, asparagus, and various fruiting vegetables such as chili, eggplant, cucumber, etc.
This form of drip irrigation is quite simple. The basic system includes a water source, water distribution pipes, and drip lines laid along each row of vegetables.
For vegetables with dense planting or broadcast seeding—such as many types of herbs—overhead sprinkler irrigation is typically applied to cover the entire planting area.
The system generally includes: a water source, main water supply pipe, lateral (fishbone) pipes, and sprinkler heads.
